Being organized as a children’s entertainer at a disco party is crucial to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event for both you and the children. Here are some tips to help you stay organized:
Pre-Party Preparation:
- Plan Ahead: Create a detailed party plan well in advance. Include a timeline, a list of activities, and a checklist of supplies and equipment you’ll need.
- Communication: Communicate with the party host or parents to understand the party’s theme, any specific requests, and the number and age range of the children attending.
- Pack Supplies: Prepare and pack all the necessary supplies, including costumes, props, face painting supplies, sound and lighting equipment, and any games or activities.
- Double-Check Equipment: Ensure that all sound and lighting equipment is in good working order and that you have any necessary backup batteries or accessories.
Set Up & Time Management
- Arrive Early: Arrive at the party venue well ahead of the scheduled start time to allow for a stress-free setup.
- Organize Equipment: Set up your equipment and supplies in an organized manner, with a designated area for each activity. Label or color-code containers for easy access.
- Test Equipment: Test all sound and lighting equipment to ensure it’s working properly before the party begins.
- Stick to the Schedule: Follow the party plan and timeline you created. Ensure that you allocate the right amount of time for each activity and transition smoothly between them.
- Use Timers: Use timers or alarms to help you keep track of time, especially for activities with specific time limits.
The Playlist:
- If the Customer has requested specific songs, make sure that the playlist is complied prior to the start of the event.
- Make sure that the songs are ALWAYS the CLEAN version so as not to traumatize any parents or children with vulgar lyrics.
The Customer:
Once you have set up the equipment, lights and other props, speak to the customer about the running order of the party and confirm that the way you have planned it is in order for them too! This will ensure that there are no complaints after the event.
By staying organized and well-prepared, you can focus on delivering a fantastic and stress-free disco party experience for the children and their families. A well-organized children’s entertainer is more likely to create lasting memories and receive positive feedback from satisfied clients.
