Howdy! Welcome To the Face Painting Course. 1.4 Butterfly Design – Face Painting

Time Required for Lesson – 20 Minutes

Equipment and Supplies 

  • Sponge 
  • White FX/ Tag paint 
  • Black FX / Tag 
  • Round Brush 
  • Angle brush 
  • Detailer brush 
  • Split cake  
  • Spray bottle 

Sponge Work 

1) Select a sponge.
2) Spritz one side of the sponge.
3) Spritz the light purple face paint tub a couple times.
4) Dab the colour with your sponge till adequately covered. Then dab your cloth to remove extra residue.
5) Start dabbing a triangular shape on the eyelid.
6) The colour should cut diagonally half-way through the eye brow .Replicate on the other side  

Lower wings

1)Squeeze your sponge to have more control while dabbing the color. 

Extend with magnificent colour 

1) Load up another colour (Pink always works.)
2)Extend with a point at the top and extend outwards.
3) Be sure the colour blends nicely. Replicate the same thing with the lower wings.  

Thick to thin 

Start the line work from the top point. Starting nice and thick and gradually going thinner.

Add the Body of The Butterfly 

1) Start with the head of the butterfly.
2) Placing it between the inner corners of the eyes. Pull the brush downwards to create the body.
3) Add antennas.

Add the aesthetic dots

1) Load up your round brush and add white dots on the inner edge of the black line work.   Glitter is optional 
2) Looks great šŸ˜‰ Remember, practice makes perfect, keep fine tuning the design to improve it even further.

Tips

*Sponge consistency should be dry-ish , almost airbrushed effect.

**Load up your round brush till it is a creamy consistency.
