1.3 Flower Design – Face Painting

Time Required for Lesson – 20 Minutes

Equipment and Supplies 

  • Sponge 
  • White FX/ Tag paint 
  • Round Brush 
  • Detailer brush 
  • Solid Pink FX / Tag paint 
  • Spray bottle

Background check

1) Select a sponge.
2) Spritz one side of the sponge.
3) Spritz the light pink face paint tub a couple times.
4) Dab the colour with your sponge till adequately covered.
5) Then dab your cloth to remove extra residue.
5) Start dabbing a circular shape around the eye until the colour is satisfactorily established

Load up your brush

1) Load up your medium sized round brush ( Size 5 or 6) with white paint.
2) Use circular motions. Once your brush is full of white paint briefly scrape off any excess white paint from the tip.
3) Get dark pink, spritz into the tub and start load just the tip of the brush.

Right Place, Right Time!

1) 3 Flowers per cheek. First one starts in line with the corner of the eye.
2) Make a dot to indicate to yourself where to start .
3) Hold your brush perpendicularly. and get started.
4) Double petals for the middle flower.
5) Single petals for the 2 smaller ones on top and on the bottom of the centre flower.

Keep it symmetrical

Replicate on the other cheek. Add the flower buds to curve the edges

Don’t leave out the Leaves

1) Load a flat brush with green for the leaves.
2) Hold the brush perpendicularly and flick the brush at an angle.

Tips

*Hold your brush standing straight up.
**Load up your round brush till it is a creamy consistency.
** Before starting the brush stroke make sure you have the perfect point on your brush.
